There’s big news in early childhood education — and it’s something we’re genuinely excited about.

From 5 January 2026, the Australian Government will introduce what’s called the Three Day Guarantee, ensuring all CCS-eligible families have access to at least three days (72 hours per fortnight) of subsidised early learning and care. Families of First Nations children will receive 100 hours per fortnight, and families already on 100 hours won’t see their entitlement reduced.

In short — more children will have more regular access to the learning, connection, and care that shape confident, curious humans.

How It Works for Families

You don’t need to do anything — Services Australia will update CCS entitlements automatically.

The subsidy still applies up to the government’s hourly rate cap, and families will continue contributing a gap fee based on:

• their CCS percentage, and
• the session length they choose (8, 9, 10, or 12 hours).
